Reflection

As I pause and reflect over the past weeks of my journey in the early childhood development field, I have learnt that as a professional, our role is to only help guide children to grow and develop in a natural way, be good observers and foster children’s development without pushing them because development will occur if they are nurtured. Every child is an individual developing at their own space, pace and time.

I like this song that I have uploaded since it means what I have learnt and believe in.

Thank you, to all my colleagues for supporting me and making my journey through this field a memorable one.

  1. Hi Deepa

I have enjoyed your current posts and have reviewed your past posts as well. You bring a wealth of knowledge and a new look at the effects of cultural influences to our discussions. Reflecting on your post for your prenatal/child birth post, I was amazed to see the practices that differ across countries.

I have also come to value the importance of taking the time to be an observer of child development as compared to always jumping in with activities. Thanks for sharing the song. The video is really inspiring (amazing photography).

  2. Thank you for contributing to my learning experience throughout this course! I love that song by Billy Dean. We as early childhood professionals sometimes forget to allow the children to be "little" because we are focused on molding them into successful people who contribute to society.

  4. The song is so true! Children in today's world are forced to grow up fast! I appreciate your views that you have shared in this course, as well as sharing about your son. Thank you for your posts that always caused me to think more. I was inspired as you often shared about your faith in God. May you be blessed in your classes, and may you be blessed in life. Thanks for contributing to my educational journey!
    Sincerely,
    Kristi

  5. That was beutiful, Deepa. I had not heard that before and I love the refrain - give them hope, give them praise, give them love everyday - let them be little. Great advice!

I always look forward to your posts and am so glad we are making this journey together. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Deepa!
